Self-commitment and codes of conduct

Individual developers or wind industry associations may voluntarily commit themselves to comply with self-defined standards of transparency in information and communication and in financial participation procedures. See codes of conduct and codes of practice in glossary. Opportunities for citizens active or passive financial participation can provide further community benefits, in due turn.

The WinWind project highlighted some relevant cases where wind industry representative associations committed themselves to adhere to certain standards aiming at greater social responsibility, acknowledging an obligation to act for the benefit of society at large. See best practices.
